Ho sempre avuto il desiderio di vedere le famose linee, sin da quando ero bambino, ed ora mi si e' presentata l'occasione, che non ho perso.
Gli operatori che organizzano il volo sulle linee sono numerosi all'aeroporto di Nasca. Una telefonata, una mail di pagamento ed una di conferma ed il bus che mi (ci) porta in aeroporto si materializza alla stazione dei bus dove ci trovavamo. In meno 10 minuti si arriva al piccolo aeroporto, dove i piccoli mono e bimotore decollano ed atterrano per la visita sulle linee. Turisti a bizzeffe in questo scalo che sopravvive solamente per la loro presenza. Faccio la fila al check-in (poco più di un bancone) e dopo circa trenta minuti di attesa mi caricano insieme ad altri 4 passeggeri su un monomotore con due piloti già a bordo intenti nelle loro faccende.
Dopo meno di 5 minuti siamo già in volo diretti sulle linee. L'aereo segue un tracciato per poter visitare i disegni più importanti, ed una volta che si trova su uno di questi compie una virata completa a destra ed una a sinistra, per permettere ai passeggeri su ambo i lati dell'aereo di godere della miglior visuale e fare foto.
La piana che contiene le linee e' un deserto di colore giallo grigiastro e, con mia grande sorpresa, le linee presenti sono una moltitudine; non solo i famosi disegni (scimmia, colibrì, etc), ma anche lunghe e infinite linee rette e curve che si perdono a vista d'occhio.....una meraviglia.
Sulla via del rientro all'aeroporto si passa anche sopra le pozze scavate nella roccia che formavano la riserva d'acqua delle popolazioni che vissero nella zona in era pre-incaica e che presumibilmente furono gli autori delle linee.
Non c'è che dire, lo spettacolo vale sicuramente il prezzo del biglietto, anche se il volo mette a dura prova la tenuta dello stomaco per via delle accentuate virate che l'aereo compie nel suo tragitto.
Peru – Nazca From Cuzco we traveled all night by bus to Nazca, where I went to see the famous and misterious Nazca's lines (Francesca, less interested, was my lady's companion). I have always wanted to see the famous lines, since I was a child, and now, that I had the chance, I caught it. At Nasca's airport there are numerous operators for the tour on the lines. After a phone call, an online payment and an email to confirm it, the shuttle bus to the airport materialises at the bus station.
In less then 10 minutes, we reached the small airfield, where the little single and double engine aircrafts land and take off for the lines' tour. Flocks of tourists keep this alive this otherwise dead airfield.
About thirty minutes after the check-in (it's just a bench with an operator) I boarded the little air-plane with 4 other persons, and the 2 pilots, busy with their check-list.
A few minutes later we took off heading for the lines. The plane followed a path to see the most important drawings and, once it reached one, executed two complete turns on both sides of the aircraft to allow anybody on board to take their best shots.
The land where the lines are is a flat yellow-greyish desert; the lines are many, not just the most famous drawings (monkey, hummingbird, etc), but also a huge number of never-ending, straight and curved lines reaching the far horizon.... what a wonderful sight.
On the way back to the airport ,the aircraft overflew the water dwells dug into the rock and used as water supply by the people living in these lands in the pre-inka age; it believes that these civilisations drawn probably the lines on the ground.
I cannot complain at all, the show is worth the ticket’s price, even if the flight challenges the stomach a lot due to the air-plane's heavy turns along the track.
