In circa un mese di foresta amazzonica abbiamo avuto la possibilità di conoscere meglio questi animali cosi curiosi ed imprevedibili. A parte il divertimento e l'affetto che danno, hanno una fisicità portentosa che gli permette di essere agili e forti allo stesso tempo. Per non parlare della coda, praticamente un terzo arto che gli permette di attaccarsi ovunque e 'connettersi' per conoscere il mondo. Ecco anche la coda vorrei, gommata all'estremità come la loro.
Nella finca (fattoria) dove siamo stati ospiti ce n'erano 4: una piccola piccola di poco piu di un mese, ancora senza nome e con tanta voglia di mamma – si attaccava anche al collo di Pietro, per poi reclamare di non avere appigli per reggersi (pochi capelli); Fanny, la scimmia che sorrideva ovviamente pronta a ricevere qualcosa di cibo in cambio; Micky la più grande e anche la piu spaventosa, per il momento attaccata con una corda lunga ad un albero mentre stanno costruendo una casa dove le scimmie possono ricevere cure, cibo e dormire ma anche andare a saltare tra gli alberi della foresta; per ultimo il mio preferito, un ladrone dispettoso ed adorabile, Lucio. Lui appare in diversi video che abbiamo registrato per vari compleanni e feste, lui e' la superstar; sempre pronto a qualche dispettuccio come rubare del cibo o tirare a terra la biancheria appena stesa, ma super simpatico e giocherellone. All'inizio lo temevamo, chi ha mai toccato una scimmia?! Poi dopo 4 settimane abbiamo dormito insieme sull'amaca e quasi fatto la doccia insieme.
La finca dove abbiamo passato questo periodo amazzonico si chiama “centro Dos Mundos” ed e' un centro di sanazione (cura) e miglioramento sia spirituale che fisico. Le persone vanno li per curarsi; per quanto ci riguarda noi ci siamo riposati tra camminate rilassanti nel verde sfacciato della selva (foresta), dormite profonde e seguito una dieta per due settimane per rimetterci in forma dopo tante mangiate senza vergogna.
Visto che c'eravamo abbiamo provato le piante amazzoniche, nel senso che abbiamo bevuto in forma di te diverse piante medicinali che venivano e vengono utilizzate dai locali come medicinali. Abbiamo trovato (ma non provato) di tutto dal diuretico all'allucinogeno, sentendo storie dei tempi degli Inca sull'utilizzo di queste, decisamente istruttivo!
Come siamo arrivati qui?
Abbiamo incontrato due ragazzi niente meno che nella Patagonia argentina, ad Usuaia: una coppia di canadesi, ma con origini (lui) colombiane e (lei) russe, che casualmente alloggiavano nello stesso ostello e tra una chiacchiera e l'altra ci hanno parlato della fattoria dove erano stati per un mese.
Non c'e' bisogno di dire ci siamo piaciuti e che ci hanno dato una cosi 'buona onda' che siamo rimasti in contatto da dicembre, quando li abbiamo salutati in Argentina, fino ad aprile, quando li abbiamo rincontrati in Peru nella fattoria.
Lydia ed Alberto sono stati i nostri vicini di casa per tutto il nostro soggiorno a Dos Mundos, arricchendo la nostra esperienza tra chiacchiere, informazioni sulla Colombia e ricette sane e facili. Siamo contenti di averli incontrati e siamo altrettanto sicuri di rivederli da qualche parte nel mondo. E' proprio vedo che quando si incontra un amico si incontra un tesoro... Chevere chicos!!!
Durante il nostro soggiorno oltre alle scimmie, bamby e tanti altri pennuti amazzonici, abbiamo avuto la fortuna di incontrare persone interessanti come Leti, la cuoca temporanea 🙂 sempre allegra e sorridente, con la sua personale colonna sonora composta da salsa e bachata; Jessica, minuta ed energica, una donna interessante e potente che ci ha regalato tanti racconti e la sua perenne disponibilità; Patrick, nipote di Pepe - mister Dos Mundos, lavoratore instancabile, inizialmente incomprensibile per la lingua, ma poi si e' rivelato un super simpatico. L'anima del posto e' in realtà la famiglia di Maria e Pepe con i loro due figli (Agata e Manuel) che ci hanno ospitato e aperto un mondo (l'altro) con cui non avevamo familiarità.
Episodio divertente (dopo un mese):
siamo stati apprezzati dalle zanzare e da tanti insettini che vigliaccamente salivano dal suolo arrampicandosi sulle gambe, noncuranti dei calzettoni e pantaloni, e mordevano. Abbiamo sofferto per circa una settimana divorati dalle bestie feroci che ci hanno marcato come dalmata, con punture urticanti. Poi improvvisamente ci hanno parlato di un frutto che si trova nella foresta, chiamato Huito, che quando ancora e' acerbo ha la proprieta' di essere un repellente prodigioso.
Il papa' di Leti ha gentilmente trovato questo famoso Huito nella montagna e noi diligenti lo abbiamo stagliuzzato e spalmato su tutto il corpo sperando nel prodigio. Dobbiamo essere sinceri che ha ridotto nuove punture di circa l'90%, ma contro indicazione ci ha tinti di blu: siamo andati in giro nella fattoria come due puffi, quindi se vedete le foto con la mani blue, non vi spaventate e' semplicemente questo frutto che e' anche una tinta naturale. Gli indigeni lo utilizzavano e lo utilizzano ancora per tingere i capelli, che vengono di un nero corvino, e i tessuti.
Noi eravamo solo due sfigati sofferenti, tinteggiati come due pituffi (puffi in spagnolo).
Peru – Amazzonia If I ever have a pet at home, it will be definitely a monkey!
In about a month in the Amazon forest, we had a chance to learn more about these animals, so curious and unpredictable. Aside from the fun and the love they give, they have a prodigious physicality that allows them to be agile and strong at the same time. Not to mention the tail, almost a third leg that allows them to stick anywhere and 'connect' to learn about the world.
Easy to understand that I would like to have a tail, with some rubber like theirs.
In the finca (farm), where we stayed there were four: a little monkeys, a little more than a month old, still unnamed and with a great desire of mum – always climbing on somebody's neck, even on Peter's, and then complaining for not having what to hold (short hair); Fanny, the monkey who smiled - obviously ready to receive something in exchange as food; Micky, the largest and also the most frightening, at that time being attached to a long rope on a tree, while they are building a house where monkeys can receive care, food and can sleep, but also going to jump through the trees of the forest. Finally my favorite, a mischievous and adorable thief, named Lucio. He appears in several videos that we recorded for various birthdays and parties, he is the superstar; always ready to do some spite, like stealing food or pull down the washing from the line, but super cute and playful.
At first I feared, who has never touched a monkey?! Then after 4 weeks, we slept together in the hammock and almost took a shower together. 🙂
The finca, where we spent the time in the Amazon, is called "Center Dos Mundos" and is a center of sanation (treatment) and of improvement for both spiritual and physical aspects of the person. People go there to be cured; in our case, we went there to rest between relaxing walks in the incredible green of the forest, deep sleeps and following a diet for two weeks to get back on shape after many lunches and dinners, shameless.
Since we were there we tried the Amazonian plants, in the sense that we drank various medicinal plants that were, and still are, used by the locals as medicines. We found (but not proven) all diuretic and hallucinogen plants, hearing stories of the times of the Incas about their use, definitely instructive!
How did we get here?
We met two guys in the Argentinian Patagonia, at Usuaia: a counple of Canadians, but with (he) Colombian and (her) Russian background, who eventually stayed at the same hostel and between a chat and another, we talked about the farm where they had been for a month.
It is silly to say that we liked them and they gave us such a 'buena onda' (good wibe) that we stayed in touch since December, when we greeted them in Argentina, until April, when we met them again in Peru at the farm. Lydia and Alberto were our neighbors throughout our stay at Dos Mundos, enriching our experience between stories, information about Colombia and healthy and easy recipes. We are happy to have met them and we will meet them for sure somewhere in the world. It is true that when you meet a friend you meet a treasure ... Chevere chicos !!!
During our stay, in addition to monkeys, bamby and many other Amazonian birds, we had the chance to meet interesting people as Leti, the temporary cook 🙂 always happy and smiling, with his personal soundtrack composed by salsa and bachata; Jessica, petite and energetic, interesting and powerful woman who has given us so many good stories and its perennial availability; Patrick, grandson of Pepe - Mr. Dos Mundos, a tireless worker, initially incomprehensible for his way to speak, but then he revealed himself as a super simpatico.
The soul of the place is in reality the family of Maria and Pepe with their two sons (Agata and Manuel), who hosted us and opened up a world (the other one!), to which we had no familiarity.
Funny episode (after a month):
we have been appreciated by mosquitoes and many bugs, that cowardly came up from the ground by climbing on our lap, heedless of socks and trousers, and bitten. We suffered for about a week devoured by wild beasts that marked us as Dalmatian dogs, with stinging bites. Then suddenly, we heard about a plant in the forest, called Huito, which is used as natural repellent when it is still raw.
Leti's dad kindly found this famous Huito in the mountain and we diligently cut and smeared all over our bodies, hoping in the miracle. We have to be honest that reduced new bites of about 90%, but a consequence was to dye us blue: we went around the farm as two smurfs - so if you see the photos with blue hands, do not be afraid is simply the result of the natural tint. The natives used it, and still use, to dye hair, that result really black, and tissues.
We were only two suffering losers, painted like two pituffi (smurfs in Spanish).
